Making wine in Napa Valley for over 20 years now, Henrik Poulsen brings great experience to the table, as well as his very own brand, Release. While Release is bottled is small quantities, I find that is the type of wine many of our listeners look for. Originally from Denmark, Henrik has made Napa Valley his home and with that has grown some truly exceptional wine. In addition, Henrik is also a Consulting Winemaker. Often, the smaller the wine, the greater the prize.

In the effort to pass on information about the Napa earthquake to our listeners, we spoke with Napa winemakers to get an update. Alpha Omega Winemaker Jean Hoefliger, Bridget Raymond Winemaker for Courtesan and Release Winery Partner and Winemaker Henrik Poulsen give different perspectives on the event. Since it’s only been a couple days, the full effects of the quake have yet to be reported. This gave us a chance to check in with friends to see what they now have to deal with. We also spoke with Patsy McGaughy of the Napa Valley Vintners Association to get an overview of how wineries were effected.
