Ever since the end of prohibition,
wineries across the country have grown and experienced change in
varying degrees. From the Tasting of Paris to Oregon’s Pinot boom,
winemakers have searched the US for the next big thing. Michigan’s
wine industry is no different. For example, many young cherry
farmers have expanded their growing operations to include several
varieties of wine grapes including Riesling, Cab Franc, Cabernet
Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc to name a few. Creighton and McKenzie
Gallagher have a long family history in farming, and made that leap
in a very short time. We spoke with McKenzie at the very busy
tasting room and learned what the future will look like.
