Tasting Italian wines can be a daunting yet incredibly educating experience. And a lot of fun. Several varietals from vineyards all over country may create a challenge, but when presented by the growers themselves, that can make a world of difference. We were in Chicago in early May for the Dalla Terra Winery Direct tasting and had the opportunity to record brief interviews with many of the winemakers present. Without a doubt, learning can be fun.

The following is a list of winemakers interviewed.

-Roberto Stucchi Prinetti of Badia a Coltibuono

-Gianluca Garofoli of Garofoli

-Guiseppe Tasca D’Almerita of Tasca

-Giacomo Neri of Casanova di Neri

-Andrea Di Properzio of LaValentina

-Enrico Valleferro of Adami

-Tommaso Chiarli of Cleto Chiarli

-Elia Pellegrini of AIA Vecchia
