Who would’ve ever thought to blend French grapes with Long Island grapes? James and Alexandra Medwick of Maiden and Liberty Winery, in Long Island New York, that’s who. Great wine made in a very different way. We spoke with James and Alexandra via telephone while they were in the south of France preparing for harvest. She is French and he is American. As part of the Australia Up Close event, we were able to taste many excellent wines from this amazing country. For Tim, travelling the states gives him a chance to meet some of the folks they sell to. And even sneak in an evening at Wrigley Field for a Cubs game. Not bad for a cricket fan.
