The thing that I love about doing these interviews is meeting incredibly interesting people. Scott Stelzle is a retired winemaker/winery owner who has retired from retirement and is now making wine for Cordant Winery in Paso Robles. He is also a pilot who flies very old war planes. I met up with Scott at the Cordant Winery in the Tin City section of Paso and had a great chat about wine, planes, farming and whatever comes next.

The Paso Robles area of California is an incredibly diverse grape growing segment of wine country. You can find just about any wine you’d like to drink including Rhone varietals. Fulldraw Vineyard is located in the Templeton Gap AVA and owned by Connor McMahon. Several wineries can be found surrounding Fulldraw making it a fun place to visit. We caught up with Connor just after harvest in October and got a brief glimpse into growing a winery while growing a family.
