Vino Video – The Wines of Abruzzo, Italy

June 27, 2022by Ray FisterNo Comments

Two weeks ago I had the privilege of visiting the Abruzzo region of Italy, along with a group of US and Canadian journalists. Montepulciano d’Abruzzo has been a favorite for a long time and with that we tasted Trebbiano, Pecorino and Cococciolla among others. The sparkling and Rosé were also very tasty. Our program this week includes interviews with a few Abruzzo winemakers recorded during the grand tasting. I’ve also included a brief conversation with Wine Journalist and fellow traveler Julia Coney, getting her take on the region. You can learn more by visiting www.vinidabruzzo.it

Podcast #493 – Brian Maloney, Winemaker Buena Vista Winery, Napa/Sonoma

June 20, 2022by Ray FisterNo Comments

The history of Napa Valley and Sonoma may be surprising to those that take the time to read up on the past. The colorful characters of history almost seem to be reborn in modern day winemaking. Buena Vista Winery is like a living character, with a long history of winemaking in California. Brian Maloney is Winemaker at Buena Vista and this is our second interview with him, the first being back in January of 2018 (Podcast #258). History is in this wine. And wine is passion.
