Christine Barbe makes wine for Clay and Brenda Cockerell’s Coquerel label. It is worth noting that Christine is also French (from Bordeaux, no less) and without a doubt she makes her wine in the French style. While the wine may not be easy to find….it IS worth the search. We met with Christine at a restaurant in the city of Napa….so please understand the noise in the background. Learn more at:

In the effort to pass on information about the Napa earthquake to our listeners, we spoke with Napa winemakers to get an update. Alpha Omega Winemaker Jean Hoefliger, Bridget Raymond Winemaker for Courtesan and Release Winery Partner and Winemaker Henrik Poulsen give different perspectives on the event. Since it’s only been a couple days, the full effects of the quake have yet to be reported. This gave us a chance to check in with friends to see what they now have to deal with. We also spoke with Patsy McGaughy of the Napa Valley Vintners Association to get an overview of how wineries were effected.

Every tasting room offers it’s own experience. But a visit to Patz & Hall in Sonoma is really a completely unique experience. Our interview with Anne Moses and Donald Patz, two of the four partners included that experience. In fact this is their brand new tasting room after relocating from the southern end of Napa Valley to within just a few blocks from the square in Sonoma. We originally interviewed Heather Patz for Podcast #33 back in May of 2011.
Three down and one Winemaker to go….
This is part one.
