Napa Valley is well known as Cab country….and the Oakville
AVA has many of the best know Cabernet vineyards in the Valley.
The Oakville Master Class as well as Taste of Oakville took place during the final weekend of April.
The Master Class was one of the finest wine seminar’s we’ve ever attended….never was the concept of terrior better explained. The entire event was hosted by the Oakville Wine Growers and took place at Robert Mondavi Winery. Here we offer a few short interviews with winemakers including Dennis Groth of Groth Vineyards, David DeSante of DeSante Winery and Bonny Meyers of Meyers Family Vineyards just to name a few.

Claire Weinkauf and Jennfier Roberts were close friends long before becoming partners in Picayune Cellars…..and you may recognize Claire’s name…..she is married to Spottswoode Winemaker Aron Weinkauf featured in Podcast #129. Beyond that they’ll tell you more than I can….
This is the second video of two.
Christine Barbe makes wine for Clay and Brenda Cockerell’s Coquerel label. It is worth noting that Christine is also French (from Bordeaux, no less) and without a doubt she makes her wine in the French style. While the wine may not be easy to find….it IS worth the search. We met with Christine at a restaurant in the city of Napa….so please understand the noise in the background. Learn more at:
