Growing up in Carmel, California, Nicole Hitchcock was highly influenced by the power of food and wine when it comes together. Coming from that part of the world, it’s no wonder she became a winemaker. Nicole is winemaker at J Vineyards & Winery in Sonoma well known for still wine as well as sparkling. Her enthusiasm is contagious and her passion is apparent. The thing is, the world can be a very happy place by drinking more sparkling wine, don’t you think?

Retirement is really just a state of mind. Few winemakers really retire. Why would you when you have one of the coolest jobs on the planet? Tom Mackey rejoined the wine business after his thirty year stay at St. Francis Winery in Sonoma to open, Tom Mackey Cellars. Of course! Now he produces 500 cases of the wine He wants to make. It’s a great plan. We met with Tom at his shared tasting room in Sonoma just a few weeks ago to talk about how winemaking looked like a much better idea than golfing all the time.
