Buzzwords are not uncommon in the wine industry and one that stands above many is sustainability. Winemakers are farmers first, and practice the idea of cultivating the land with great care for future generations. Julien Gervreau is Vice President of Sustainability for Jackson Family Wines in Santa Rosa and sustainability is his passion. I spoke with Julien a couple weeks ago to learn more about the Jackson Family commitment to the land and the future of the industry.

The history of winemaking in California may be brief in comparison to the old world, but the fact is, the quality stands on its own. Landmark Vineyards in Sonoma has its own unique history dating back to 1974, a special time in California wine.
