Partners in this business come together in many different ways. Often from a chance meeting. From chance meetings come great things. Andy Wahl and Bill Kerr created Daylight Wine & Spirits in Sonoma and the brand has grown to major distribution. For this interview I met with Andy and their winemaker Bobby Donnell, alongside a favorite vineyard in Sonoma. For sure, this is brand to watch.

A Winemaker’s journey can be best described as challenging. Those in love with the concept of making wine usually start in the cellar or maybe at harvest. Those who know, surviving harvest is the toughest time of all since winemakers grow out of harvest. Ian McClellan knew harvest well, then became Cellar Master and now, he is Assistant Winemaker at Anaba Wines in Sonoma. Ian is a personal friend and former employee of mine. I’m proud of his accomplishments and I’m proud to call him a friend. Plus he’s a darn nice guy.
