To the east of Napa Valley, passing over Howell Mountain lies a lesser travelled but very special wine growing area, Pope Valley. To those that have made the trip, it is a look at what Napa Valley might have been a long time ago. For this podcast, I visited Pope Valley Winery. I toured the winery with General Manager Diana Hawkins as we readied for her interview. It was a trip through time. The winery was a lesson in the old west. You can walk away, but it never leaves you.

Spending time in Alexander Valley takes you away from the heavy traffic found in busier areas and is just plain good for the soul. Grapes farmed here are diverse and make exceptional wine. I met up with Dustin Moilanen, Co-Founder and Director of Winemaking at ACTA Wines during the heart of harvest.
