Winemakers always have a different take on how they see the world. They have more of a specific sense of nature, timing, tasting and urgency. Greg Morthole is winemaker for Davis Bynum Winery in Sonoma. Its really fascinating to hear him describing his Chardonnay. During the Sonoma County Barrel auction back in April, Greg took a little time to chat with us in between tastings. Here he has a moment to relax with us in the eye of the hurricane.

Napa Valley brings together winemakers from all over the world…and many from it’s own back yard.  Rolando Herrera is the owner and winemaker at Mi Sueno Winery. Rolando was very young when he came to Napa growing a strong work ethic, love of the land with a positive attitude. His success came from his experiences. We met with Rolando at the winery and tasting room in the southern end of Napa back in April. Frankly, I could listen to this guy for days…

During the Sonoma County Barrel Auction back in April we were able to spend a bit time with Jean Arnold Sessions, Executive Director of Sonoma County Vintners. As you’ll hear the crowd is active in the background but we were able to steal a little time from Jean to give a simple insight as to what she does and why she does it. Rose, Cabernet, Pinot or Gewurztraminer, all are a pleasant take along for a nice long bike ride and picnic. Clif Family Winery knows all about bike rides. Clif Family is owned by Gary Erickson and Kit Crawford best known for the famous Clif Bar. Laura Barrett is winemaker for Clif and we managed to catch up with her at the tasting room Velo Vino in the heart of Napa Valley.
