Steve Contursi and his wife Seanne are owners of Arrow & Branch and now produce their wine in almost new facility in the Oak Knoll section of Napa Valley. Steve and I met up in the barrel room which accounts for the strong echo in the recording, but are soon adding a new tasting space. It was way back in October of 2016 that I last produced an Arrow & Branch podcast so it was about time to get caught up. We laughed, talked about rare coins, laughed some more and even talked about wine.

Sitting along the Napa River in the city of Napa you can find the ultra cool tasting room for Scalon Cellars located in a repurposed tannery. The vineyard itself is located in the scenic Coombsville AVA just east of the city and tastings take place at the tannery by appointment.. Tim Goodwin is the General Manager at Scalon and took time out of his morning to give me the history and background of Scalon as well as the Coombsville AVA. My advice, seek out the small wineries. You’ll be glad you did.
