Premiere Napa Valley is back in full force for 2023. Winemakers from all over the Valley have created special lots for the auction to support the Napa Vintners. Our last PNV podcast was in 2020 so it was a very happy reunion of winemakers and the trade to be together at various wineries for tastings during the final week of February. This podcast features brief interviews with almost 50 winemakers at these events pouring and catching up. Listen and please enjoy.

Our story today takes place in the Rockpile AVA, found to the north west of Santa Rosa in Sonoma County. Florence Vineyard sits above Lake Sonoma and is owned and farmed by Jack Florence. After growing grapes for many years Jack now bottles wine under his own label from the 18 acre property. Zinfandel and Petite Sirah grows well here and I caught up with Jack at the vineyard which offers stunning views of Sonoma as well as most excellent wine.
You can also hear Jack on our Vino Lingo segment defining the term “Brix”.
