A few weeks ago we attended the Simply Italian tasting at London House in Chicago.  We recorded several interviews during the tasting and here we feature two Italian Wine Industry professionals. Italian wines are amazing. And lets face it, they can be a bit confusing too. From time to time winemakers from all over the country pass though our town of Milwaukee. But now we have a winemaker from Oregon who is originally from Milwaukee. Although she is no longer directly involved with the winery Susan Sokol Blosser of Sokol Blosser Winery in Oregon is not far from the vineyard. These days the former winery President is an author with two books to her credit. We were very lucky to have her stop by the Life Between the Vines studio just before an evening wine dinner. And lucky to have her autograph my copy of her latest book.

The youngest from classic Italian family, Emilia Nardi is President of Tenute Silvio Nardi winery and we caught up with her at the Kobrand tasting in Chicago. Montalcino is an area of Italy growing some of the very best wines in the country. Emilia knows her wine quite well and the family keeps an eye on things for her during this year’s harvest, which was lucky for us.
