Our interview with Michael Scholz, VP of Winemaking and Vineyards at St. Supery Estate was recorded last Thursday, while fires were still threatening the north part of the Valley. It’s been a few years since we last sat down and spoke with Michael and I wish it could have been in person and I wish he had no worries about fires in the Valley. But this is 2020. On a bright note, Michael is always fun to chat with and it was just nice to get caught up. You can visit donatenow.networkforgood.org/NVCF to help out. Great interview with Michael Scholz, VP Winemaking for St. Supery Vineyards & Winery. How kind of him to take the time during this most difficult time here in the Napa Valley. I appreciated and learned quite a bit from his discussion of the wildfires and their effects on Dollarhide Ranch and St. Supery’s 2020 vintage. Having worked at St. Supery for five years (a while ago), I recall that Michael’s discussions and clear explanations, even about quite technical details, seem approachable, relatable, and understandable, and this interview was no exception. He is a great winemaker and a genuinely kind person. Thanks so much for this podcast!
